A Tulsa couple with a love story straight out of a rom-com is hoping to win big and inspire others along the way.

Bennett and Patience, soon-to-be parents, are finalists in the national “America’s Favorite Couple” contest. If they win, they’ll take home a $20,000 cash prize and be featured in Variety magazine.

And it all started with a game of Skee-Ball.

How They Met: A Tuesday Night and a Chance Game

The couple first crossed paths on an unassuming Tuesday night at a retro bar in Tulsa. Bennett says he almost didn’t go out that night, but something told him to.

“When Patience walked in, I knew instantly she was the one,” he said. “I asked if she wanted to play Skee-Ball—and the rest is history.”

That spur-of-the-moment game turned into something more. The two quickly became best friends and adventure buddies, bonding over shared values and a love for trying new things.

From Dating to a December of Memories

One of the couple’s favorite shared experiences was a marathon of Christmas dates.

“Every week in December, we did something new,” Bennett said. “Our favorite was a couple’s Christmas painting class. Patience actually painted the best one of the day.”

They describe themselves as a fun-loving, Christian, family-oriented couple who “love to have fun and experience new things together.”

What’s at Stake: A Home for Their Baby Girl

Now expecting their first child in November—a baby girl—the couple hopes to use the $20,000 prize as a down payment on a home.

How to Support Them

The first round of voting ends Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m. PDT. Supporters can vote online for Bennett and Patience to help them advance to the next round on the contest website.

The couple says they hope their story encourages others to take chances on love.
