Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash early Friday morning in Tulsa, police say.

The Tulsa Police Department says officers and firefighters responded to the scene of the crash, located at 5600 West Skelly Drive.

Police said the crash happened after a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 44 went off the road before coming to rest in a grassy area on the side of the interstate.

A female driver and a male passenger inside the vehicle were both taken to the hospital.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the car to veer off the roadway.
