The mandatory boil order remains in place for residents in Hominy as the city continues water system improvements and awaits final test results.
The city said the boil order could be lifted by Tuesday, June 10, depending on the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) schedule and decision.
All recent testing for additive levels has been positive, and a new sample was hand-delivered to Stillwater on June 3.
According to a city update, Hominy is following DEQ’s Corrective Actions and Requirements for Suspending the Boil Order, which were posted on May 29.
The city also said it is continuing to meet operational, maintenance and training requirements outlined by DEQ.
Officials thanked residents for their patience with recent and planned tasks meant to improve water quality, increase operator safety, and restore system capacity.
