How They Got Here

Game 1: OU 17, Nebraska 1

The Sooners overwhelmed Nebraska (33-29) with 17 runs on 18 hits—tying season highs in both categories—and earned a spot in their second straight regional final.

Easton Carmichael homered twice, eight Sooners had multi-hit games, and six drove in multiple runs. Cade Crossland was dominant on the mound, striking out nine over seven innings of one-run ball (unearned).

Oklahoma jumped out early and never looked back, scoring in six of eight innings. Carmichael’s three-run homer in the sixth highlighted a five-run frame. Freshman Michael Catalano closed it out with two shutout innings.

Game 2: OU 9, North Carolina 5

The Sooners used a five-run sixth to take control and hold off UNC (44-13). Drew Dickerson’s two-run homer gave OU the lead, followed by a two-RBI double from Jaxon Willits. Dasan Harris added a solo shot in the eighth for insurance.

Freshman closer Dylan Crooks entered with the bases loaded and no outs in the eighth and escaped unscathed, then shut down the Tar Heels in the ninth for his 16th save—second nationally and in OU single-season history.

Three Sooners had multi-hit games; Willits and Dickerson led with two RBIs each. The pitching staff combined for a steady effort: Braden Barfield (4.0 IP, 1 ER), James Hitt (W, 2.0 IP), Brendan Bodin (1.0 IP), and Crooks (2.0 IP).
