Eighteen golf courses across Oklahoma are now part of the newly launched Oklahoma Golf Trail, a statewide initiative promoting the state’s golfing culture and scenic diversity. Created by the Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission, the Trail officially launched this week with support from state leaders and top golfers.
The Oklahoma Golf Trail was established through HB 3647 during the 2022 Legislative Session and brings together both public and private courses in a collaborative tourism initiative. The Trail was developed by a nine-member commission that includes golf industry leaders from across the state.
Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell played an active role in its development and said the Trail aims to draw attention to Oklahoma’s unique landscapes while stimulating local economies.
“This initiative shines a spotlight on some of Oklahoma’s best and most unique courses, positioning our state as a top-tier golf destination while driving tourism and economic growth across the state,” Pinnell said.
The Oklahoma Golf Trail covers a wide variety of terrain and course styles across the state. The Trail’s 18-member lineup includes:
The Trail pays tribute to Oklahoma’s long-standing contribution to the world of golf. Legends like Gil Morgan and Charlie Coe once played on these very greens, while modern stars such as Scott Verplank and Talor Gooch continue to put Oklahoma golf on the map.
“The Trail celebrates the incredible range of courses across Oklahoma, so whether you’re a scratch golfer or picking up a club for the first time, there’s something here for everyone,” said Sheila Dills, Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission chair and former Oklahoma House member.
Gooch, a LIV Golf pro and Oklahoma native, echoed the sentiment.
“The Oklahoma Golf Trail is an awesome way to show off some fun courses in some beautiful places,” he said. “I’m excited for golfers from around the country to experience the great courses in my home state.”
