The roar of engines echoed through Tulsa this weekend—but it wasn’t just the sound of motorcycles making noise. It was the message of unity lining the streets of Greenwood during the 4th annual Black Wall Street Rally.
Organizers estimate around 20,000 people came out for the, many riding in from all across the country.
One group that stood out in the crowd: the One Unit Motorcycle Organization, whose members want you to hear them—loud and clear.
“We are not a gang,” one member said. “We’re an organization—built on community, family, and the open road.”
With 11 chapters nationwide, One Unit’s mission goes beyond the pavement. This weekend, they came to Tulsa not just to ride, but to connect with a deeper purpose.
“Unity. People coming from different places, coming together. Learning some history I never even knew,” one rider said.
That history lives in Greenwood—once known as Black Wall Street—where the rally is as much about economic power as it is horsepower. Dr. Ramona Curtis, mother of Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, came to support the event, even if she doesn’t ride.
“If I did ride, it’d have to be a four-wheeler,” Curtis said. But she could still learn something.
Behind the leather jackets and chrome are organizers focused on legacy. “This is more than a bike fest. It’s about education, financial literacy, and coming together as one unit,” said Damali Wilson, one of the hosts of the event.
Last year alone, the event brought in $2.1 million for the local economy.
