At just 8 years old, Honour Rose is making waves on the airwaves.

The second grader is the host of Honour’s Society, Oklahoma’s first children’s radio show, which broadcasts from historic Black Wall Street.

Each week, Honour shares stories, reviews books and food, and chats with special guests all with a vibrant energy and clear passion for connecting with people.

A Show With Purpose

Honour’s Society airs Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. on The Greenwood Beat. The young host says the idea came from her mother, and the show blends fun, learning, and community spirit.

“We eat, we read, and we review books and food,” Honour said. “We even have special guests.”

Among those guests: Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, Pastor Stephen Wiley, often called the godfather of Christian rap, and Wingstop franchise owner Mario Jefferson.

Big Dreams, Big Heart

Though she’s already built a growing radio platform, Honour has even bigger plans for the future. She wants to be both a police officer and a radio host when she grows up.

Honour says her biggest inspiration is her grandmother, or “Lolli,” who instilled in her a love for helping others, reading, and food. That influence shows in her work, she uses the money she earns to feed the homeless and deliver gifts to nursing homes.

Behind the Mic and Behind the Scenes

Balancing school, life, and radio might seem like a tall order for a child, but Honour says she’s not doing it alone.

“I have a whole tribe,” she said. “My mommy is my manager and writes my scripts, my Auntie Tylisha and Uncle Patrick are my production crew, and my god sisters Zehda and Aaliyah are my food review crew.”

Honour’s next interview is with T.J. Jackson, the son of Tito Jackson, a close friend of her father.

Looking Ahead

Honour has a wish list of dream interviews, from YouTubers Jordan and Salish Matter to entertainers like Keke Palmer, Jaden Smith, and Ariana Grande. But it’s clear she’s already inspiring others just by being herself.

"You can even tell Alexa to play the Greenwood Beat and she will turn it on!" Honor said.
