Tulsa Regional Tourism has unveiled the results of a new economic impact study showing the city hosted 10 million visitors in 2023, a record-setting milestone for the area.

Jonathan Huskey and Patti Krausert shared the findings exclusively with News On 6, emphasizing the growing influence of the tourism sector on Tulsa’s economy.

$1.4 Billion in Visitor Spending

The study, conducted in partnership with Tourism Economics, found that 10,000,000 visitors spent a total of $1.4 billion in 2023. That figure translates to an estimated $3.9 million in daily contributions to the local economy, supporting a range of businesses from restaurants and hotels to shops and entertainment venues.

According to the report, one in every 16 jobs in Tulsa is supported by tourism. The industry’s continued recovery from the pandemic is evident.

The data, based on local sales tax and motel lodging reports, highlights tourism’s role as a key driver of economic vitality for the region.

Optimism for the Future

With steady growth and a clear upward trend in visitor numbers, officials say Tulsa’s tourism outlook remains strong.
