Sapulpa Public Schools is giving the community one last chance to walk through the Woodlawn Annex before the building is demolished.
Here’s what you need to know about the event and what’s next for the site:
Q: What’s happening at the Woodlawn Annex?
Sapulpa Public Schools is hosting a public walk-through event at the Woodlawn Annex on May 8, 4 to 6 p.m.
The building is open to former students, staff and community members who want to say goodbye before it’s torn down.
Q: Why is the Woodlawn Annex being demolished?
District officials say the site is being demolished to make way for its new high school building. The project is part of the $279 million Chieftain Stronger bond initiative, which voters approved in 2023 to fund upgrades and improvements across the district.
Q: How long has the Woodlawn Annex been part of the district?
The Woodlawn Annex and Sapulpa High School have served the district for more than 60 years, providing generations of students with education and opportunities.
Q: Where will the new high school be located?
The new high school building will stand near the same location as the current high school, at the corner of Mission Street and Dewey Avenue.
It will feature a Main Street concept designed to be a highlight along Sapulpa’s Route 66.
Q: How can the public learn more about the project?
For updates and additional details about the new high school, Sapulpa Public Schools encourages residents to visit the district’s website.
