No. 20 Cowgirl Tennis opens NCAA Tournament with 4-0 Sweep over No. 36 Tulsa

The 20th-ranked Cowgirl tennis team opened the NCAA Tournament with a 4-0 sweep over No. 36 Tulsa on Friday afternoon in the Norman Regional.

This is the 11th time in the past 12 years the Cowgirls have advanced to the 2nd round. OSU is 20-7, marking the 3rd time in the last 4 years that OSU has reached the 20-win mark.

OSU jumped out to the early 1-0 lead after Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez beat Ana Naranjo Martinez and Mariana Manyoma Velasquez, 6-4, for the doubles point.

In singles, Oklahoma State got straight-set wins on courts two, three and four to clinch the win. 

 The Cowgirls will now await the winner of No. 6 Oklahoma and Denver in tomorrow’s Round of 32, set for a 2 p.m. start in Norman.
