The OSU Cowgirls are looking to turn things around in the NCAA Softball Regional Tournament after a first-round exit in the Big 12 Tournament.

Despite midseason struggles, the Cowgirls finished the regular season on a four-game win streak and are hoping things are starting to click at the right time when it counts.

OSU head coach Kenny Gajewski said, "I feel like we were starting to do some really good stuff, then we ran into a buzzsaw. It's just one of those things. It's just softball, it's a round ball and a round bat, and it's a tough game. We're playing better and getting better each day."

Coach Gajewski also told us that he still thinks this team hasn't even played its best brand of softball yet.

The games that matter start now for the OSU Cowgirls, and Indiana is on the agenda to begin their road back to OKC.

OSU is the road opponent in the opening round for the first time since 201,8 and this is only the third time the Cowgirls have met the Hoosiers in the postseason.

The last time was back in 1986, but have faced off multiple times in the regular season, but never in the Gajewski era.

Gajewski added, "Yeah, they put pressure on you, they can run. They got four or five kids that can steal some bags, and they can bunt. They have some power. They can do a lot, and it'll be a chess match."

Indiana head coach Shonda Stanton said, "For us, they understand the game plan, they understand what it looks like offensively. We're gonna go up there and take our hacks."

Oklahoma State is 11-3 in the series all-time with Indiana, and all of those games were at neutral sites.

First pitch is Friday at 3:00 p.m. to open up the first round with double elimination.
