Collinsville Police and Fire Departments celebrate beloved resident's 101st birthday

The Collinsville community came together in a big way to celebrate a special milestone for a beloved resident.

On Friday, April 25, Ida Bruce marked her 101st birthday — and the Collinsville Police and Fire Departments made sure she felt every bit of the love she has given over the years.

Officers and firefighters organized a joyful parade right in front of her home, complete with flashing lights, smiling faces, and plenty of cheers.

'Your strength, wisdom, and warmth are an inspiration to us all," the police department shared in a touching message on Facebook. "It’s an honor to celebrate a life so richly lived and rooted in our community.'
