Ahead of their planned international tour, the Irish dance group is putting on the finishing touches inside the Armstrong Auditorium in Edmond.

After captivating audiences with 70 shows across the United States, Celtic Throne is preparing to take its high-energy performance overseas after a send-off show at Armstrong Auditorium on May 4.

The new show, "Celtic Throne 2," is described by lead dancer and choreographer Jude Flurry as “an experience that audiences will not be prepared for.”

Flurry says the production features a mix of Irish dance, live music, acrobatics and even martial arts stick fighting, with choreography shaped in part by an Olympic Taekwondo coach.

“We’ve got music by a Golden Globe-nominated composer, Brian Byrne,” Jude said. “It’s so much more than Riverdance—it’s extraordinary.”

Following the Edmond performance, the group will embark on a world tour, with stops including Vienna, Israel, and the United Kingdom.

The international expansion marks a major milestone for the group, which previously toured Celtic Throne for 5 years.

Flurry said early audience reactions to the revamped show have been overwhelmingly positive.

“I think we kind of blew them away by how different this show was from the first one,” Flurry said. “After the first number, the audience just went wild.”

Flurry also said excitement is high among the cast and crew, who are eager to showcase Oklahoma’s homegrown talent on a global stage.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled,” Flurry said. “I can’t wait to see the international audiences and prove that Oklahoma has some of the best world-class talent there is.”

As the troupe prepares to depart, they say they are hoping for strong community support at the May 4 performance.

“This is our home base,” Flurry said. “The more support we can get, the better.”

Tickets for the May 4 show and international tour dates are available at celticthrone.com.
