Spring cleaning is happening at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
Williams employees volunteered to do different projects there on Monday, including cleaning an F-14.
"The museum does not have any janitorial staff. It operates on a very, very lean staff," Williams' Manager of Aircraft Maintenance Mike Mansur said. He also sits on the TASM’s board.
He has served on the board for about three years and sees how much attention the F-14 gets.
"Most aviation nerds just love to come out and see this thing. It's one of the only ones on display in the United States," Mansur said.
There were about 20 Williams employees volunteering on Monday, with plenty of things to clean.
"We have a lot of field trips. We have a lot of children. Little fingerprints are everywhere," Tulsa Air and Space Museum Executive Director Tonya Blansett said.
She said about 35,000 kids visit the museum each year.
The team took advantage of the sunny weather to make some improvements outside, too. That included sprucing up the the Rosie the Riveter Memorial Rose Garden, which was put in place in 2020.
"It makes my heart feel so good to see those beautiful roses. And they just started blooming," Blansett said.
"The fact that the company lets us come out and serve the community like this, it's really good team building for the employees, and it really helps the museum," Mansur said.
If you'd like to volunteer, the TASM welcomes the help. Call (918) 834-9900 or email info@tulsamusuem.org to see what day and time works best.
Williams employees plan to be at the Tulsa Zoo and a Nature Conservancy preserve near Sapulpa later this week.
Other Williams employees across the country are also volunteering this week.
