The city of Broken Arrow is launching a new online tool in May designed to help residents monitor their water usage more effectively.
The portal, called Water Smart, is the final piece of a decade-long project to equip the city with automatic meter readers. According to City Manager Michael Spurgeon, the service will allow residents to track daily water usage, identify trends, and gain insight into their consumption habits.
In addition to usage tracking, Spurgeon said Water Smart will offer leak detection features. Users can opt to receive alerts via email or text if their water usage exceeds a set threshold.
Spurgeon said that to access the portal, residents will need to set up an account. The City of Broken Arrow will release more information on how to do that in the coming weeks.
