Residents in Ada are recovering after an EF1 tornado tore through parts of the city Saturday night, leaving a path of destruction that damaged homes, businesses, and displaced families.
The tornado comes only weeks after another tornado struck the area in March.

The tornado hit neighborhoods hard and scattered residents' belongings in its wake. For many residents, it was their first experience with a tornado.

"Once my wife and my two grandkids got in the closet, I just kind of stood there. I didn't even—I don't know. I think it was just shock," Kevin, a resident in the area, said. " It could have been a lot worse."
One local business owner, J.R. Ean, reflected on the damage.
"It's a hard feeling, I'm saying. We've been running since 2005 until now," Ean said. "But, you know, things happen. Mother Nature can do damage."

Despite the devastation, the Ada community is showing resilience and unity. Residents quickly began helping each other to clear debris and restore basic services. Some residents had power back in their homes within 24 hours thanks to their efforts.
The sound of chainsaws fills the air on Sunday morning as neighbors work side by side, cutting through fallen trees and broken fences. The outpouring of support speaks to what many Oklahomans call the "Oklahoma Standard," which is the spirit of service, kindness, and community.

For those displaced by the storm, the American Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center, providing food, water, and a place to stay for families in need.
As recovery efforts continue, officials are encouraging residents to report damage and seek assistance if needed.
