The Tulsa City Council plans a tour of mental health providers in Tulsa, as state leaders work on funding issues that led to cancelled contracts for several mental health initiatives in Tulsa. The tour is scheduled for April 23rd.
The Council plans to tour Family & Children's Services, Grand Mental Health, Yes Tulsa's Youth Urgent Care, and Parkside Psychiatric Hospital.

City Council Chair Phil Lakin said councilors want to get a better understanding of the issue by visiting directly with providers. The city has several mental health initiatives underway, including recently adding around-the-clock assistance through 911 with a mental health clinician in the field ready to respond.

The agencies on the tour provide crisis care to young people and adults in a variety of settings, including inpatient care and on-demand urgent care.
