A Eufaula woman wants answers after her brother was found severely injured on the side of the road in Muskogee, then died.

Police say they are investigating.

The victim's sister says each day gets harder without knowing what happened to her brother.

What happened to Ashton Wright?

Muskogee Police Department said officers were called near East Okmulgee and Frankfort Avenue at 7:41 p.m. on March 31, for a "severely injured" person in the road.

The victim, identified as 21-year-old Ashton Wright by police, died at the hospital. The cause of his injuries is unknown.

Waiting for answers

Ashton died a couple of weeks ago, and Markaya Breshears says her family is desperate for answers because they are desperate for some peace.

"It's very disappointing, because you, you, after funeral, that's what you want. That's like, like you crave answers on how this had happened to him," said Breshears.

Markaya says her family is heartbroken because now Ashton's three-year-old son, Joshua, will now grow up without his father.

"I don't want it to be like, well, we never found out what had happened, and we never did this. Like, I want to have answers for him when the time comes," said Breshears.

She says she will keep his story alive.

Breshears said, "He wasn't just like nobody to people. You know, he's a lot to everybody."

A beloved brother, friend, and father

"All we have is memories now. So just have to look at it and either be happy because you have them or be sad because you won't get them anymore," said Breshears.

Ashton's family says there was never a dull moment with him.

Breshears said, "He's always having fun all the time, no matter what."

She says he was also a proud and dedicated father.

"Whatever he wanted to do, he did, whether that was just laying the floor or play," said Breshears.

"He loved his kid more than anything, his entire world," said Daylon Morris, Ashton's friend.

What's next?

Muskogee Police are asking anyone with information to contact their investigator at 918-680-3125.
