An Owasso restaurant is combining Mediterranean flavors with American staples while ensuring everything is scratch-made and fresh.
Mozilla’s Kitchen is a hole-in-the-wall that delivers on hospitality and authenticity.
Mozilla’s Kitchen greets customers with this promise: Great Food Made Delicious. They deliver on that promise by putting freshness and flavor first.
“Everything is authentic, made fresh on a daily basis. Hummus, tabouli, tzatziki, kabob, we also have hamburgers--smashed, never frozen,” said owner Mo Zeidan.
Zeidan opened Mozilla’s Kitchen a couple of years ago. His daughter, Maysa, is the general manager, and the restaurant is a family operation.
“I really enjoy having the opportunity to work with my dad every day,” she said.
Mo is Lebanese and had restaurants back home, and has opened several restaurants in Tulsa. Mozilla’s Kitchen combines all of his favorite dishes from each place, with his customers always in mind.
“You have to give in order to get back,” he said. “You have to be the best of the best.”
“The environment’s great, the owner's awesome. I've learned so much from him and the guests. It's a wonderful experience,” Chef Thomas Williams said.
He started off back in the kitchen by grilling chicken for the protein bowl.
“Our kabobs are amazing; we take chicken, cut it, chunk it. Marinade for 24-48 hours.”
He builds the bowl with fresh rice, lettuce, lentils, tzatziki sauce, cilantro potatoes and hummus. Then crowns it all with the kabobs.
“Take the kabobs off the grill, nice and fresh, and put them right there,” Chef Thomas said.
With everything made in-house, this dish is healthy, filling, and delicious. The whole thing works together so well.
The scratch-made falafel is so good, it's so fresh.
Mo is debuting his summer salad for the season.
It comes together with spring mix, fresh fruit, feta, and homemade raspberry vinaigrette dressing.
“Those are candied walnuts you put on top,” Maysa said.
The salad truly does taste like summer.
Mozilla’s Kitchen is known for its popular gyros and sandwiches like the Philly. The fries on the side are far from an afterthought: there are sweet potato fries, regular fries, and crispy onion rings, which are crispy and soft at the same time.
The chefs prepare cabbage rolls with homemade tomato sauce, and also lemony tabouli with punchy herbs and olive oil.
“Little taste of home for my dad,” said Maysa.
Everything at Mozilla’s Kitchen is made with love and crafted with care. That's why the team hopes this now Owasso staple is here to stay.
“It takes a lot to open the business,” Maysa said. “We really count on the support of the town are so thankful and grateful.”
Mozilla's Kitchen is located at 11610 East 86th St N, Owasso, OK 74055.
