6 suspects arrested in Deer Creek kidnapping and armed robbery

Six people have been charged and arrested after a 2024 kidnapping and armed robbery that happened outside of a coffee shop in broad daylight, investigators told News 9 on Tuesday. 

Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said the victim was kidnapped in Deer Creek, outside Coffee Jerks near Northwest 178th and MacArthur last June. 

Deputies said she was tied up and beaten before being robbed of $250,000 in cash and let go in southwest Oklahoma City. 

Suspects Identified

“The men arrested are Dallas Jacquet, Brandon Ford, Demerce Dennis, Harron Jennings, Kadarryus Caples, [and] Gordon Scott.” 

Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said it believes the kidnapping was not random. 

“We don't believe that she knows them. We believe that they saw her driving by and took the opportunity, but we do not believe it was a random act.” 

Connection Between Suspects and Victim

According to an arrest affidavit, the suspects were purchasing marijuana from a house. As they were leaving, they saw the victim pull up to the same house in her Tesla. 

Investigators said they believe that's when the group started following her. 

"Anytime you have individuals who are willing to kidnap someone, tie them up, beat them and take their money, these are extremely dangerous individuals that we were dealing with,” said Sheriff Tommie Johnson. 

Sheriff Johnson said he thinks that the department’s work led to the positive outcome. 

"We hate that this young woman was taken, but the steps that they took initially, potentially saved her life." 

Technology was a key factor in the investigation, OCSO added. 

How Authorities Identified Suspects

"Using information gathered from the Tesla cameras and facial recognition software, we were quickly able to identify one of the alleged kidnappers. Then, using other technology, including flock cameras, we were able to place him at the scene,” Sheriff Johnson continued. 

During the course of a “very long and thorough investigation, we were able to identify five other suspects," the department said.
