Police say phone records have helped identify and arrest a second suspect in a 2022 road rage shooting that left a young woman dead and her brother injured in southwest Oklahoma City.
According to investigators, the incident began as a road rage confrontation in August 2022 and ended in gunfire that killed a woman and injured her younger brother. Authorities say the victims had no prior connection to the suspects.
Police initially arrested 34-year-old Darius Clark, who fled the state but was later located and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Missouri. Investigators allege Clark was one of two drivers responsible for escalating the confrontation that led to the fatal shooting.
A second suspect, Dredon Elliott, was later identified through a police investigation. According to court documents, Elliott denied knowing Clark, but investigators say his phone records revealed he had been in contact with Clark while the two were allegedly chasing the victims through a neighborhood just before the shooting.
Elliott is currently being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint and a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Clark remains in custody on the same charges. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 9.
