OKLAHOMA CITY -
One of the core projects for the City of Oklahoma is a project called Crosstown Connections. As Oklahoma City becomes more of a bike culture, the goal is to connect north, south, east, and west routes across the city.
MAPS 4 Latest Bike Lanes
- NW 16th St. from Lake Overholser Trail to N. Tulsa Ave.
- NW 19th St. to NW 18th St. and Indiana Ave.
Bike Laws
- Cyclists are allowed to get out of bike lanes. It is necessary if they need a travel lane in a different direction, such as making a left turn.
- Bicycles are allowed to roll through stop signs. It is a state law that allows cyclists not to have to completely stop, but to treat it as a yield sign.
- If there is no opposing traffic, they are able to go through.
- The latest project on May Avenue and 19th is expected to begin construction in the next couple of months and reach completion by the end of the summer.
