Gov. Kevin Stitt launched his Marathon Training Challenge on Thursday morning with a run outside the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

He was joined by the “Ran Them Alls,” a group of dedicated runners who have participated in every Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon since its start in 2001.

This year, Stitt is leading a four-person team in the inaugural Quarter Marathon.

“And as everybody passes me, they’re like, ‘I beat you, governor,’” Stitt joked.

Runners who do pass Stitt during the race will receive a special prize: a T-shirt that reads “I Beat the Gov.”

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon takes place Sunday, April 27.
