After being postponed due to weather, the Wheeler District Ferris Wheel in Oklahoma City is finally ready to open for the 2025 season.
On Thursday, the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch traveled out to the Wheeler District to learn more about this weekend's opening day.
Wheeler District Vice President of Development Ashley Terry says they are looking forward to welcoming everybody.
"We are so excited to be opening the Ferris wheel for the 2025 season," Terry said. "We postponed the festivities last weekend, but this weekend, we're kicking it off with a whole lot of fun. We'll have live music on Saturday, food trucks all weekend long, we'll have the lawn games out and the wheel spinning, the hammocks out. It's going to be a great weekend."
As for cost, it will be free to come out and enjoy the opening day festivities, but the Wheeler District will be selling day passes and single passes for the Ferris wheel.
"For $25, you can ride the wheel as much as you want for the 2025 season," Terry said.
Terry said other activities will also be coming for the 2025 season, including some local favorites.
"We've got Fitness at the Wheel coming back this year; that's a fitness class that we do for free on Sunday morning," Terry said. "We've also got a summer concert series that kicks off in June. Once a month, we have a ton of local artists that come out and play music and then Wanderlust Pop-Up Shops. All kinds of fun stuff are happening this year."
