Edmond police arrested a driver who rammed into a police car as they attempted to flee.
Last month, as an officer patrolled the parking lot of a La Quinta Inn & Suites, at 200 Meline Drive, he came across a van that had been stolen. Using his patrol vehicle, the officer blocked it in and confronted a woman, later identified as Nicole Nisly, who appeared to be living inside the vehicle.
Officer: Ma'am! Ma'am, get out of the car!
Nisly: What am I doing wrong?
Officer: Get out of the car. This car is reported stolen.
Officer: Turn off the car and get out of the vehicle.
Nisly refused to exit the vehicle.
Officer: You're going to hit my police car. Get out of the car! It's right behind you.
Nisly stepped on the gas and attempted to reverse. Nisly rammed into the push bar of the officer's vehicle and was unable to push past.
With an officer's gun drawn, Nisly ignored further commands
Officer: Ma'am, get out of the car!
Another officer used a police baton to bash the driver's side window. Immediately, Nisly hurled a urine-filled 7-Eleven Big Gulp at the officers and waved a pointed metal object that looked like a knife.
Officer: You better put that down! Get out of the car!
Officer: Switching to a taser.
Officer: I'm going to tase you!
Nisly was tased and placed under arrest. It wasn't until after the heated confrontation that officers identified the cup's liquid contents as urine.
Police: I couldn't tell exactly what it was. I was hoping it was Coke.
Exposed to bodily fluids, as part of protocol for Edmond police, one of the officers went to the hospital to get checked out.
Police said Nisly had several outstanding warrants in Nebraska, including a warrant for resisting arrest.
