1 dead in head-on collision west of Summerfield

One person has died in a collision that took place west of Summerfield in eastern Oklahoma, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on US Highway 271, less than a mile north of Leflore Road.

OHP Troopers report that one northbound vehicle on US Highway 271 crossed the center lane, hitting the second vehicle head-on.

One passenger in the first vehicle was pronounced deceased, with the drivers of both vehicles being transported by AirEvac to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
