29 years ago, Oklahoma mourned one of its darkest days.

But instead of crumbling our city found help and hope in each other.

Agencies came together who normally would be competitors, and television stations who normally competitors figured out how to do it together.

And the Oklahoma standard was born.

Now, nearly three decades later the Run to Remember reminds us that the grind of grief is a marathon not a sprint.

There will be hills and valleys, wins and losses, and tears and triumphs.

It's that message, that mission, that keeps organizers, families, volunteers, and runners coming back to the starting line.
