Signs Lead To Success For Edmond Woman

Celia Thomas found herself in a far too common position during the pandemic when she became unemployed.

"I definitely didn't want to retire right now," Thomas said.

She tried to find other work, but over 70 job applications later without finding anything, it was a sure sign she that needed to try something new.

"I had to come up with something, thinking outside the box. I think it was my oldest daughter that said, 'Mom, how about yard signs?' That's how Simply Sign It was born," Thomas said.

Thomas didn't have any training in her new trade. She was previously a project manager but hit the ground running and found a new passion.

"I love creating, for individuals, for people," she said.

Her customers love the signs right back.

"I get responses back from everybody. They love it. I get pictures with big old smiles on their faces," Thomas said.

On top of overcoming the challenges of starting a new business, Thomas is also celebrating local schools by offering 25% of her sales to schools when they partner with Simply Sign It for fundraisers.

"It was given to me I feel like to do this. It's a blessing and I need to bless others with it," she said.

Her story is a reminder that no matter the sign of the times, there are always brighter days ahead.

"I would have never thought that I would be doing what I'm doing now, then. I was so down and out. For this to happen, it's truly a blessing," Thomas said.
