The Democratic National Convention is now underway in Milwaukee, but mostly taking place remotely because of the pandemic.

The Democratic National Convention opened virtually Monday night-- mostly online with a lot of it pre-recorded.

The speeches were broken up by musical performances and guest interviews aimed at highlighting the Democrats' policy priorities.

George Floyd's brothers led a moment of silence for victims of police violence.

And the night ended with a video message from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

"Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head."

Tuesday morning, President Trump responded to Michelle Obama's remarks saying "somebody please explain to Michelle Obama that Donald J. Trump would not be here in the beautiful White House if it weren't for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama. Biden was merely an afterthought."

Tuesday night, the Democrats will conduct the official roll call of the state delegations.

The speakers include former President Bill Clinton and Joe Biden's wife, Jill.
