NEW YORK -- The United States National Basketball team trimmed its roster from 15 to 13 Sunday, cutting Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green and Wizards center JaVale McGee.
The decision was made before the team played France in an exhibition Sunday and traveled to Spain Monday. Both players were held out of Team USA’s previous matchup with China Saturday.
Reigning NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the United States 86-55 win over France.
The squad must be cut down to 12 players before the World Championships August 28 in Turkey.
