MaKayla Glenn

MaKayla Glenn is an Emmy-nominated journalist. She started with News On 6 in August 2022. MaKayla considers herself a community-focused storyteller. She currently works with the evening news team covering breaking news and a variety of topics impacting families and communities in Oklahoma. 

She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. While in college, she was an anchor and reporter for Tech’s weekly student-led newscast, MCTV. She also worked behind the scenes in production and as a camera operator with Texas Tech Athletics Broadcast Services. MaKayla’s first introduction to the newsroom was during her internship at KCBD News Channel 11 in Lubbock, Texas. 

MaKayla aims to positively impact the world of journalism by telling and producing stories in an engaging and informative way, while infusing a huge dose of compassion. Community service is a significant part of MaKayla’s life, and she plans to use her professional platform to continue serving others. MaKayla is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and the National Association of Black Journalists. 

MaKayla was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. Her favorite activities are cooking, working out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
