Approximately 500 people gathered Sunday night in a Homeland parking lot in Edmond to honor conservative right-wing Charlie Kirk.

He was killed earlier this week while speaking on a Utah college campus event.

A mixture of adults and young children waved American flags and sang hymns.

A picture of Charlie Kirk leaned against a podium as different speakers talked about their encounters with him.

Candles were lit and passed around as the crowd sang 'Amazing Grace'.

OU Turning Point President Kalib Magana tells News 9 how he plans to continue his legacy.

“Through Turning Point of the University of Oklahoma, we're going to make sure that we host the largest, the most, the greatest events and chapter could host. We're going to put all of our blood, sweat, and tears,” said Magana.

He also said for him, Kirk was courageous and meeting him brought him closer to God.
