Q: You’ve been a top target for a while. How much did that experience help you in your first game?

A: It definitely helped. My past experience prepared me for this moment. I’m just thankful my coaches trust me and my quarterback trusts me as well.

Q: Was there much of a difference in the speed of the game moving up to this level?

A: From what I’ve experienced, it felt faster, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle.

Q: How do you approach games when there are point spreads involved?

A: We go into every game the same way, thinking we’re going to win. I don’t pay much attention to point spreads. We work hard and know we have a chance.

Q: Do you think this offense has more potential than what we saw last week?

A: For sure. There are definitely things we haven’t shown yet, and that excites me.

Q: How surprised were you when Haas wasn’t on the sideline anymore?

A: It did surprise me at first. I didn’t know right away until someone told me. We’re praying for a speedy recovery for him and excited to get him back whenever he’s healthy.

Q: Zane came in as quarterback. How is his leadership style different from Haas?

A: Zane is very level-headed and a great leader. You can tell in practice that he goes out there and does his job. He leads in his own way, quieter than Haas, but still effective.

Q: You made a great catch down the sideline. Can you describe the throw?

A: That was a perfect throw. It was right where I could get it, and he hit me in stride. He makes throws like that all the time, so it wasn’t surprising.

Q: Did Zane seem comfortable coming into the game?

A: Yes, he was ready to go, and we were all comfortable with him out there.

Q: Do you think Zane will improve week to week as he gets more game experience?

A: Definitely. As the offense gets more comfortable and clicks with each other, he’ll be even more comfortable in the offense.

Q: What was your phone like after the game?

A: It was fun. I got to spend time with my family, and a lot of them came to the game. It was fun celebrating with them.

Q: If you could go back and tell yourself in high school that you’d be here now, what would you have said?

A: I probably would have said you’re lying. I couldn’t have expected to be here. It’s a blessing, and I take in every moment—even walking outside before the game feels surreal.

Q: When did you realize playing at this level was possible?

A: Honestly, at the end of last season. Before that, I wouldn’t have thought I’d get here.

Q: Did your confidence grow from last season?

A: Yes, it definitely raised my confidence a lot. Having a season like that would raise anybody’s confidence.
