A new date for the execution of Oklahoma Death Row inmate Tremane Wood could soon be set following a delay requested by the Oklahoma Attorney General.

Wood, sentenced to death for the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old during a robbery in 2002, was set to be executed on Sept. 11.

However, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond requested in August that Wood's execution be delayed while his office investigated Wood for criminal activity while in prison.

Wood's attorney later filed several motions, but all were denied.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is now set to approve a new execution day.
