Man convicted of causing fatal Elk City crash sentenced to additional time in prison

Jose Paxtor-Oxlaj, convicted of manslaughter in a 2023 Elk City crash that killed six, received two more years in federal prison for illegally reentering the country.

A man sentenced to four years in prison for causing a fatal crash in Elk City is receiving additional prison time, according to court documents.

Jose Paxtor-Oxlaj was deported in 2010 and was in the United States illegally when he crashed into a truck in 2023.

Six people inside the truck died in the crash. A seventh person was critically injured.

In April, Jose Paxtor-Oxlaj later pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally reentering the country.

Paxtor-Oxlaj is currently serving four years in state prison for manslaughter and will now spend an additional two years in federal prison.
