The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking for college students across Oklahoma to serve as ambassadors during the upcoming season.
The program, now in its seventh year, gives students the chance to work with the Thunder’s fan development team to promote the organization’s brand and community involvement on their campuses.
“We’re looking for students who are ... really connected on their campuses, who obviously are using social media a lot,” said Landis Tyndall with the Thunder. [“It’s] a way to work with us and understand how a professional sports team handles these things on a day-to-day basis.”
Ambassadors will be tasked with amplifying Thunder messaging, from special events, such as new court designs, to community outreach and appearances near their schools. Participants will receive team merchandise and may also have opportunities for game tickets.
Tyndall said larger universities such as Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma may have more than one ambassador, depending on campus involvement.
