An eastern Oklahoma teenager is hoping his unique hairstyle will earn him national recognition in this year’s USA Mullet Championships.
Logan Lease, a Gore High School student, is competing in the teen division with his cut called the ‘Scissortail Swag,’ named after Oklahoma’s state bird.
Lease’s blonde mullet — short in the front, long in the back — is more than just a style choice. He calls it a lifestyle. He says the look has earned nods from cowboys, attention from his peers, and a growing fan base online.
This marks Logan’s fourth year entering the national contest. His mom says he’s determined to bring the title home to Oklahoma. The winner receives $10,000, and Logan already has plans for the prize.
‘When Logan wins, he will donate a portion to his home church and invest the remainder in his first truck,’ his mom shared.
In addition to supporting his church, Logan is also raising funds for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, a nonprofit that builds and remodels accessible homes for injured veterans.
Fans can help Logan secure first place by voting on the competition’s website at MulletChamp.com
