Driver arrested, accused of negligent homicide for deadly U.S. 412 crash in Sand Springs

Police say a 41-year-old woman was killed in the crash, and a 41-year-old was arrested on negligent homicide charges.

8/22/2025 UPDATE: Sand Springs Police say Enrique Rico Bustamante, 41, was arrested in Tulsa on Friday. He's being booked into the Tulsa County jail and charged with negligent homicide and obstruction, with an ICE hold.

Police say that evidence indicates that Bustamante was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash even though he said he was not. 

According to police, Bustamante is not licensed to drive anywhere in the U.S.

A woman died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 412 in Sand Springs on Tuesday, police said.

Sand Springs Police said officers responded to the crash east of 129th W. Ave. on eastbound U.S. 412.

They said both passengers were ejected from the vehicle, and life-saving measures were provided to a female victim at the scene until first responders declared her dead.

The eastbound lanes were closed while authorities worked at the scene. There's no word on the condition of the other victim in the crash.

SSPD said both victims are from the Tulsa area. They have not been identified yet.
