Oklahoma teachers weigh in on student cellphone use in exclusive survey

A News On 6 survey of more than 500 eastern Oklahoma teachers found mixed views on how a new state law restricting student cellphone use will impact academics and mental health.

As more Oklahoma students head back to school, a new state law restricts cellphone use in class.

News On 6 sent surveys to elementary, middle school, and high school teachers in districts across eastern Oklahoma between July 31 and August 13 to gauge teacher opinion about student cellphone use and how it relates to academic performance and mental health.

543 responded.

The survey has a margin of error of +/-4.2 percentage points.
