A house near Keystone Lake has been declared a total loss after a fire broke out on Monday night, prompting a response from multiple fire departments.
The blaze started around 8:30 p.m. near Highway 51 and 265th West Avenue, according to firefighters. Crews from Basin, Mannford and Keystone Fire Departments worked for hours to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters said the house was fully engulfed when they arrived. Because of the rural location, tankers had to haul in water to the scene.
Crews remained on site until about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
One firefighter suffered a minor leg injury during the response, officials said. The family living inside the home made it out safely.
They were later seen leaving the scene and are believed to be staying with relatives.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many people lived in the home or whether any pets were inside when the fire started.
The cause remains under investigation.
