Tulsa County deputies say a man who was shot in the chest during a fight over stolen property has died, and the suspect is now facing multiple felony charges, including murder.

Deputies say the shooting happened after two victims confronted 24-year-old Jovohn Kadavion Blanke about potentially stolen property. Investigators said a fight broke out, and Blanke allegedly fired a shotgun, hitting one victim in the chest.

Police identified the deceased victim as 34-year-old Stephen George Cox.

The second victim was inside a vehicle that was struck by gunfire, and was injured by glass when the bullet shattered a window, according to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. That victim was taken to be interviewed by detectives.

Authorities said all of the individuals involved knew each other before the incident.

Blanke was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of first-degree murder, shooting with intent to kill after former conviction of a felony (AFCF), and possession of a firearm AFCF.

The investigation is ongoing, and deputies said more updates will be released as they become available.
