NOTE from Cherokee Nation: This event is not affiliated with the Cherokee Nation, or a sanctioned Cherokee National Holiday event.
A new way to cool off and connect is coming to the Cherokee National Holiday.
Cherokee 411, an independent Native media group, is hosting a one-day pop-up on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, inside the air-conditioned Cherokee County Community Building. The lineup includes a Native art market, a live conversation with former Principal Chief Chad Smith, and the first-ever singles meet-up for Indigenous guests.
Local and regional Native artists will fill the pop-up with booths showcasing handmade art, jewelry, and more. Artists can snag low-cost booth space, and their work will be featured on Cherokee 411’s website and social channels.
From 2 to 3 p.m., Smith will sit down with whistleblowers, legal pros, and community leaders from his latest book, ‘Proceed Undaunted.’ Expect behind-the-scenes stories and a deep dive into protecting Cherokee sovereignty.
The singles meet-up is a first for Cherokee 411. With a laid-back vibe, light snacks, and plenty of space to mingle, the goal is simple — help Indigenous singles meet and make connections.
The Cherokee National Holiday marks the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Nation Constitution and brings tens of thousands of people to Tahlequah every year. Cherokee 411 says the pop-up is about honoring that history while giving the community a fun, welcoming place to gather.
