A nonprofit therapeutic riding program in Oologah opened its doors to the community this week, giving visitors a closer look at the services it provides to veterans, first responders, and children with special needs.

The Bit by Bit Riding Center, located just off Highway 169, hosted a showcase event where guests toured the facility, met the horses, and learned how equine-assisted services can help people work through trauma and improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

The center relies on donations to operate its programs, and it recently received a boost from the Cherokee Nation, which awarded $10,000 to support its work.

Organizers say the facility offers a welcoming environment for anyone who has experienced trauma, using horse-assisted activities to promote healing and connection.
