What happened at the Port of Catoosa

Troopers and rescue crews responded to the Low Water Pier at the Port of Catoosa around 5 p.m. Monday after reports of someone in the water. Osage SkyNews 6 flew over the scene as the response unfolded.

According to OHP investigators, Reed had been dropped off at the pier by a tugboat. Troopers say he sat down on the pier and then fell into the water.

Multiple agencies, including the Verdigris Fire Department and the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, assisted with the search and recovery effort. Boats were deployed to search the water, and Reed’s body was recovered a short time later.

What we still don’t know

Investigators have not released information about why Reed was at the pier or what caused him to fall into the water.
