Members of Oklahoma Task Force 1 are headed home after assisting in the aftermath of devastating flash flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

According to a post from OK-TF1, its Type 3 Swiftwater Team and K9 Unit will conclude their deployment Monday morning and return home. Another Oklahoma team, OK-TF5, will remain in Texas for a few more days to continue supporting ongoing operations.

Their deployment followed historic flooding on July 4, when the Guadalupe River surged more than 26 feet before sunrise, sweeping away homes and vehicles across Kerr County—about 60 miles northwest of San Antonio.

At one point, more than 160 people were reported missing in Kerr County alone. As of Saturday, only three people remained unaccounted for, a sharp drop credited to extensive search and rescue efforts.

The flooding killed at least 135 people statewide, including 107 in Kerr County.

Officials with OK-TF1 thanked the public for their support and asked for continued thoughts as team members travel home Monday.
