A Tulsa football coach is arrested and accused of DUI after he nearly crashed into a patrol car while officers were working a crash, documents show.
The arrest report says Tyler "Ty" Darlington was speeding on Kimberly Park Place in Jenks when he slammed on his brakes. Officers at the scene report that he had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on him and his breath.
Darlington was arrested on several complaints, including reckless driving and aggravated DUI, by Jenks Police.
The University of Tulsa site has him listed as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach.
TU released the following statement to News On 6 on Monday:
"We are aware of the situation and are still gathering all the information."
Darlington was an offensive lineman for the Sooners from 2012-2015, starting a total of 26 games, including time as the center for Baker Mayfield.
