Sperry man, former Owasso police officer, arrested and accused of making lewd proposal to minor

A Sperry man is arrested and accused of making a lewd proposal to a minor in Tulsa County in January.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said Michael Denton, 59, was arrested on two charges Wednesday.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Denton is a family friend of the victim's family, a 4-year-old girl. The affidavit says Denton was at the girl's house when she asked to go see her friend and Denton's step-daughter, which was allowed.

When he went home, the victim said about an hour later that Denton was using the bathroom outside when he asked if she wanted to touch his privates.

The girl refused and then went and told her mother, despite Denton asking her not to, the affidavit reads.
