The Oklahoma City Thunder made the most of their first-round opportunity in the 2025 NBA Draft, selecting Georgetown’s Thomas Sorber at No. 15. The 6-foot-9 center brings physicality, feel, and upside to a roster that just captured an NBA title, making him an ideal long-term fit for OKC’s frontcourt.

With the second round now in focus, the Thunder find themselves in familiar territory. Armed with the No. 44 pick, they have another chance to uncover hidden value. OKC has had recent success with 2nd round picks.

2021

  1. No. 55 – Aaron Wiggins
  2. A clear success story; earned a standard contract after initially joining on a two-way. Became a reliable rotational piece and contributed to the Thunder’s 2025 championship run.

2022

  1. No. 34 – Jaylin Williams
  2. Developed into a regular rotation big, known for his charge-taking, toughness, and floor spacing.


2024

  1. No. 38 – Ajay Mitchell
  2. Combo guard from UC Santa Barbara. Spent time developing in the G League during the 2024–25 season but showed flashes and earned minutes late in the year.
