Fresh off their NBA championship, the Oklahoma City Thunder added to their frontcourt by selecting Thomas Sorber, a 6-foot-9, 262-pound forward from Georgetown, with the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Sorber averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals while shooting 53.2% in his lone college season, earning All-Big East Third Team and All-Freshman Team honors before a foot injury ended his season in February.

Georgetown freshman center Thomas Sorber made a strong impression throughout the 2024-25 NCAA season with his impactful play. Standing 6’10” and weighing 255 pounds, Sorber looks the part. In 24 games, he averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals, while shooting 53.2% from the field and 72.4% from the free-throw line.

Thomas Sorber: It feels amazing, honestly. I just can't wait to get down there and see those guys.

Q: The Thunder arena gets loud. Might be the loudest I've ever been in—have you experienced that yet?

Thomas Sorber: Same here.

Q: You've been in there?

Thomas Sorber: Yeah.

Q: Are you ready for that crowd?

Thomas Sorber: Yeah. Oh, my gosh, man. I'm just ready to get the crowd hyped. I'm ready to give them all I've got.

Q: Who are you most excited to play alongside in OKC?

Thomas Sorber: I've got to say the MVP or J-Dub.

Q: How do you see yourself fitting in with the Thunder, and what NBA-ready skills will you bring?

Thomas Sorber: I think I bring a defensive-minded intensity—just giving it everything I’ve got on that end. Offensively, I’m focused on making the right reads and being a smart player. Whether it’s hedging, rotating, or getting back, I want to be locked in and consistent. Just being a great two-way presence for the team.
