Monday was an exciting day in Oklahoma City. The Thunder scored a win in Game 5 of the NBA finals, beating the Pacers 120-109.

Thunder fans were celebrating and watching the game at Scissortail Park, which is just across the street from the arena. The Thunder have encouraged fans, even those without a ticket, to visit their Thunder Up In The Park event before every playoff home game. It's got food, drinks, and music - everything fans need to get hyped for a playoff game.

More than a game

Some people were celebrating more than just the Thunder Monday night. News On 6 spoke with fan Holly King, who was there for her birthday. She says Thunder games have become more than just a game on TV or at the Paycom Center.

"It's been kind of our date thing every year. We go on dates to Thunder games and all that. I'm a big basketball fan, played basketball in high school, so it would be really important for them to win today," said Holly.

Connecting with the community

Other fans we talked to say that, of course, they were excited about the win, but what they really enjoy is just getting to share in their love of the sport with other people.

"Community really matters here in Oklahoma City, and with something as big as this, not happening since like 2011, 2012. It's a big thing, so community is really big in Oklahoma," said Makael Guin.

It was a nail-biter in the fourth quarter. Fans we talked to toward to end of the game said it was a good one for the Thunder, but they are not taking anything for granted.

"This game, you know, sets confidence going back to Indiana. Hopefully, I think it'll be done at Game Six," said one fan.

Getting ready for Game Six

Game Six is Thursday in Indianapolis, and you know Thunder fans in Oklahoma and in Tulsa will be ready. If there is a Game Seven, it'll be back in Oklahoma Sunday night at 7 p.m.
